Learning to scuba dive can be a life-changing experience, bringing a whole host of exciting underwater opportunities and friends to enjoy them with.

From beginner to advanced, Dunoon Divers provides the full BSAC training programme enabling divers to progress through a framework of qualifications at their own pace.

BSAC’s Ocean Diver course is the place to start. This entry-level open water diver qualification will equip you with the core skills to dive to a maximum of 20 metres in open water, in the UK and abroad.

With BSAC, diving skills are taught progressively, with each new skill and experience built upon, step-by-step. The blend of theory, swimming pool and open water skills sessions along with continual technique practice enables you to develop your diving in a safe and enjoyable way.

With BSAC there are five internationally-recognised diver grades, from the entry-level Ocean Diver through to First Class Diver.

What will it cost?

To learn to scuba dive with Dunoon Divers will cost you £475.

Includes:

• Digital Ocean Diver course notes, online eLearning course, digital qualification log and training records.
• Access to Dunoon Divers instructors.
• All pool costs, pool lessons, hire of club scuba kit in pool and airfills.
• Open water diving costs for FIVE dives – 3 shore and 2 boat at inland and/or coastal sites.
• Hire of club scuba kit for open water dives.
• Scuba diving logbook.
• Full diving membership of Dunoon Divers and BSAC with all the benefits of this i.e. insurance, magazine, dive trips, cheap kit hire etc.

Excludes:

• Travel to/from training sites.
• Overnight accommodation if required.
• Airfills on open water dive trips (from £5 per dive dependent on cylinder size and location of air fill).
• Food and other refreshments.
• ‘Personal’ dive kit – see below.

What gear will I need?

We will supply all the equipment you need for the pool sessions. We can also provide most of the equipment you need for the open water sessions, however, you will need to consider hiring or purchasing the following personal dive kit for your open water sessions:

• Fins, boots, mask, snorkel, gloves, hood, goody bag, knife, weight belt – £180+
• Lead weights – £50 – £100
• New semidry suit and hood – £220.00+
• Or New drysuit + undersuit + hood £555.00+
• Dive computer – £100+
• Torch – £40+

The club may have second hand kit available to purchase and we can always advise on kit available on Ebay & Facebook. You can also hire items of personal dive kit from Aquatron Dive Centre in Glasgow.
